The Business Look

What's included

A 90-minute business review, built around one question: given what you want the business to produce, where is it currently working against that.

1
Before the call

The Six Business Functions Worksheet

A short self-scored questionnaire covering marketing, sales, operations, delivery, finance, and leadership. Takes the guesswork out of where to start and gives me real information before we talk.

2
The call

90 minutes, one conversation

Just the two of us. We look across the whole business, strategy, offer, market, sales, marketing, operations, people, money, and ownership, against what you told me you want it to produce.

3
After the call

Your Business Friction Map

A one-page written summary of what we found:

  • Your stated objective, in your words
  • Where the six business functions are working for you, against you, or unclear
  • The specific friction between what's happening and what you want
  • The one constraint I believe matters most, not seven things
  • What I'd address first, what comes next, and what to leave alone for now
  • My honest recommendation for what to do next

A real finding doesn't expire. It keeps paying off long after the call.

Why me

The pattern I look for in your business

Different industries throw the same problems at you: growth that outpaces the systems, people problems disguised as strategy problems, a business that depends on you more than it should. I've been inside real estate investment, home centers, three brokerages and a mortgage profit center. And as a regional owner, I've overseen dozens of successful brokerages. That's how I spot the pattern fast instead of guessing at it.

  • Bought my first investment property at 20. Money and decisions don't wait until you feel ready, and neither does your business.
  • Ran home centers and became VP of HR along the way. Most business problems are people problems wearing a different hat.
  • Started and operated three real estate brokerages. There's a real difference between what looks like activity and what actually drives production.
  • Owned a mortgage profit center. When the numbers and the story stop matching, it unravels fast, and the first signs are easy to miss.
  • Held regional development rights for a major real estate brand. A business tells you the truth once you're not the one doing everything anymore.
  • Owned a retail sporting goods store and a custom apparel shop. The same constraints show up in businesses that have nothing to do with each other.
  • Built a coaching and consulting practice, and wrote three books turning the pattern into something I could hand someone else.

None of that's a resume. It's why I can walk into your business and see what's actually happening, instead of running you through a generic framework.

If you don't get real value from the conversation, I'll refund your payment, no argument. If we decide to work together afterward, your full investment is applied to that engagement.
